The Underground was unearthed in January 2008 in Johannesburg, South Africa. A hobby store with a different angle & a different vision. We are young, fresh & far from boring. We offer in store gaming & a place for teenagers & young adults to hang out & battle each other on the computer network or out wit there opponent with their prized magic deck or on the table top with their army of choice. Our clan “THUG” (The underground abbreviated) is made up of these gamers where competing & having fun is the main aim & winning is not our only drive. The Underground is all about having fun, getting people together who have the same interests & in turn create lasting friendships & good times.

Table Top War Games:
The table top games are perfect for developing social & mental skills. Conflict is a part of life, whether it be in sport or business & here outwitting your opponent is no easy feat. With rules for each army & set rules to play, it requires a fair bit of concentration to learn & understand. It is a game of chess with amazingly sculpted tanks and miniatures fully painted on a table top which has come to life with life like scenery. This is where your warriors look to you for tactical orders to defend themselves against the enemy. The game is amazing for developing ones imagination as you picture the battle taking place. The hobby is also very personal as each model is assembled & painted to your look & feel which takes a lot of time & energy, but in the end it is very rewarding & satisfying. You are their leader & the models you have created are your iron fist fighting for you on the battlefield.
The Underground is a portal to the fantasy & futuristic world of warhammer where there is only war… An epic battle between good and evil in the galaxy, where mankind & alien races fight for there place in the universe. It is also a fantasy world where huge dragons & undead beasts battle among legions of men, elves, orks & other warriors for honor or cruel selfish gain.
